Where You Come In

As React Native Developer, your role is to take clients specifications and use your engineering skills to build clear and functional apps.

You’ll work collaboratively with other developers, project managers and designers to make our apps the best they can possibly be and breathe life into our clients’ visions.

You might be a promising junior right at the beginning of your journey. Or you might be an experienced senior looking to diversify your career.

Our Culture

We work hard but we also make time to socialise, learn and relax. Every Friday at 4 pm we clock off and take time to chat, have a beer or soda and share our knowledge with the rest of the team.

Our whole team gets together during August and December to get some quality face-to-face time and build friendships across the company.

Team members can decide their own way to work. Prefer to work late or early? No problem. Don’t want to show your face on video chat? No worries. Tell us how you’re most comfortable and productive.

Remote First

We have an office in central Bristol which is available Wednesday - Friday every week. Our preference is that onboarding and mentoring is performed face-to-face but that most work can and should occur remotely.

The management team is regularly in the office three days a week so you’re always welcome to join us or stay at home.

Responsibilities

We’re a dynamic startup, so things change quickly. But generally speaking, here’s what you can expect:

  • Writing robust and well thought out code

  • Chatting with other engineers about technical challenges

  • Sharing your knowledge with others when you’ve smashed it

  • Asking for help when you’re stuck

  • Reviewing others’ code when needed

  • Talking to clients and other third parties to define technical requirements

  • Writing technical documentation such as READMEs

Requirements

This role isn’t for everyone. Generally speaking, we’ll expect you to:

  • Demonstrate that you have a solid understanding of React Native development

  • Be able to communicate clearly via voice and text

  • Understand software architecture principles

  • Be familiar with project management workflows such as agile and kanban

  • Be disciplined in your approach and not cut corners

  • Have a working knowledge of Git, PRs and VSCode

  • Have a good UI/UX awareness

  • Be open-minded to constructive feedback

  • Ideally, you’re based near Bristol so we can see your face :-)
